Long ago, when there was water everywhere, people lived on the little top of a mountain. Toolooak (Raven) wanted to keep them alive. Tufts of bunch grass were floating by, And Toolooak wanted to get one to use for land. But when he went out in his kayak, a big wind came up, and the tussocks were hard to hit. Toolooak sang, "I want nice, calm weather. I want those tussocks to come up right in front of me." Soon a bit of grass came up near him. He harpooned it and took it home, and from it the ground began to grow. After that they had plenty of ground.
